Interview with Silvio Santambrogio:
"It was 1980 when, together with Bonaiti, we took the first steps to study a special lock that could be inserted in a door with a round-edge panel.
Architect Cini Boeri, assisted by Laura Griziotti and Guido Nardi, a professor at the University of the highest level, immediately had an innovative door in mind. The REVER door was born, a door with a round edge, which in the early 1980s enabled our company to take its first steps into the international market.
We had to propose an innovative, high-design model to the world of interior doors in both the national and international market... And from there, an extraordinary adventure began.
Clearly the hardware in a door is an essential element for perfect product functionality. Lock and hinges are two indispensable elements.
Having fine-tuned the hinge, Bonaiti helped us find the ideal solution for the lock with a shape and recess that would fit perfectly into the design.
Together with architect Cini Boeri, we created a dedicated handle with the collaboration of Fusital, with the possibility of choosing any other handle.
We participated in the design investment of the first magnetic lock ''B-ONE'', experimenting in-house following the international standards in force.
With regard to the competence and correctness of the Bonaiti sales team, I would absolutely give it an A+.
Rever has been a major success; at the beginning with no small effort considering that it was a polyester gloss lacquered door with a round edge, but the commercial choice of having interior decorators rather than specialists as interlocutors has allowed us to start an international commercial path by proposing know-how for architects and designers.
This is still 'LIVE' in our DNA today.
Even now, glossy lacquered REVERs with Bonaiti locks are working in Japan, in Tokyo in the best residential districts there are many REVERs, as well as in the most important cities in the United States.
We now have BRERA also round-edge with new hinges and of course magnetic lock from the AGB group.
I consider locks an important piece of hardware, they must satisfy the technical, practical and functional aspect of a door and I believe that the thickness of the door leaf is really the discriminating factor for an elite production, appreciated by the world of architecture and interior design.
VIVA has set part of its production on a door with a thickness of 58 mm and we have started a path with AGB, while together with Bonaiti we are studying a door that we would like to launch next year, but it remains a secret for the moment, it will be a new and functional door."
